HIWeather in the second Multi-Hazard Early Warning Conference (MHEWC-II)

    The second Multi-Hazard Early Warning Conference (MHEWC-II) was held on 13-14 May 2019 in Geneva,  to highlight the role that national governance plays in the implementation and sustainability of multi-hazard early warning systems, taking into account the fundamental information on all risk dimensions (hazard, exposure, vulnerability and coping/adaptive capacity), regulatory frameworks and policies, institutional partnerships, and ensuring that warnings are received, well understood and actionable by the intended audience.

    Co-chairs of HIWeather involved in the MHEWC actively.  Brian Golding have been co-organising two sessions: Session 1 on the Last Mile and Session 3 on Science, Technology & Innovation. David Johnston moderated the Last Mile session with Julia Chasco (Evaluation task team) as keynote speaker.
